My Instagram caption for this picture is “Waiting on the self-tanner to start working.”
So although I did properly prep my skin for a complete self-tanning with the full-body MicrodermaMitt I mentioned on this previous blog post, I have yet to follow through on the self- tanning part. I wrestle between thoughts of ‘WHY bother’ to “Dang, you’re pale!” … but the truth is, I have a brand collaboration that I must complete, so my skin WILL have some form of color on it in the very near future. I shall report back.
Meanwhile, I confess to obsessingly watching YouTube tutorials on how to properly cut your own hair (there’s a particular Drag Queen whom I have, frankly, learned SO MUCH from!) and shall be reporting back on that, as well. Our Governor is loosing some restrictions in response to COVID-19 allowing retailers in most of our state to operate at 25% fire code capacity (starting tomorrow), however gyms and salons remain closed and may be allowed to open in June. THUS the need to pursue cutting my own hair, or rather MY HUBBY cutting my hair, has leapt to the front of my list of Things to do. Below are some of the items I’ve been using lately. Oh – and code TURQUOISE get’s you 15% off my cute, swingy top above.
So how ’bout you? Is your state up and running? Are you cutting your own hair? Doing your own nails? TANNING???
Let’s talk.
I have always done my own nails…..so nothing new there! So I cut my own hair about 3 weeks ago and it turned out pretty good. My hair is short and also thick. I have course hair and it has body/wave so therefore very forgiving. If I mess up it doesn’t show up too much! LOL
Yes – so I do my own nails and toes too but my HAIR has always been off limits. #NERVOUS
Ugh, here in SoCal the salons (nails and hair) are not to open ’til ‘Phase 3’ whenever that is….so at this point in time, I am becoming the gray Lady Godiva with my long locks, LOL. I guess it’s back to the 70s for me, only with more, ahem, mature hair color. I’m collecting pictures of Sarah Harris (British Vogue) as my new inspiration muse on Pinterest! Have a great weekend, Jamie! 🙂
I’m learning to embrace my gray. #SobsInHands
Things are opening up here in Vegas too but I have no desire to go out into the world. It’s crazy out there!! 😳😳😳
I’m going V E R Y slowly.
Salons open Wednesday to the dismay of many salon owners. Here in Connecticut, we are operating in a regional format, lumped in with neighboring state’s. Fear is a HUGE driving force here and although retail & outside dining will be also allowed to open, the atmosphere seems to drive the feeling that they will sit empty. Funny…nail salons remain closed, I think they’d be less of a challenge to operate safely than a hair salon 🤷🏼♀️
Have not done anything..no closet cleaning etc,or rganising,or nails, hair or even play in my makeup. I have been writing some, exercising most days and getting on my laptop every other day. What I have come to realize is that pre shutdown,I did too much, ran around too much, ate too much and its hard to see youtself in the rearview mirror. So today, I am sitting on my patio soaking up the sun…I live in northeast Ohio and the weather cannot seem to make up its mind what season it is.But this too shall pass..Take care
Hi Robin! Thanks so much for your response. This has definately been a time to slow down and reflect. I think my old normal needed an adjustment.
I love that blonde spray! It has saved me many times between colorings. Although, I’ve lost my hairstyle to a ponytail I know this too shall end. 🙂
NOT that cute new hairstyle you were recently sporting??!!! right??
(YES! The blonde spray is a hair saver!!)
