Ok guys/gals … I have a question for you. Have you ever tried skin brushing?
Now I don’t know about you, but I’ve been hearing about the benefits of dry body brushing for years. Clearly I’m not a doctor, but I understand that doing this procedure can help eliminate dead skin cells, encourage new cell renewal, assist in lymphatic drainage and even improve vascular blood circulation! So when the kind folks at T-Tapp asked if I might know anyone who’d like to try out their CRT Supreme Body Brushing Program … I raised my dead skin-celled arm way up high.
Roughly a week or so later I not only received the CRT Supreme Body Brushing Program, they also sent me the CRT Skin Tightening Body Brush and the Posture Power Walk … although today I’m only talking about the body brushing program.
The program is quite easy however it takes roughly 10-15 minutes to do if you want to achieve the full benefits. And by this I mean that the program is actually exercising your skin! The pattern of brush strokes is lymphatic, the “Supreme” sequence is skin TIGHTENING and you will, in fact, get your heart rate up.
Teresa Tapp, creator of the full body exercise routine, The T-Tapp System, (which, by the way, anti-aging expert Dr. Nicholas Perricone believes is the ideal anti-aging workout because it helps to reduce inflammation, build more muscle and improve bone density) incorporates special movements and body positions to enhance the body brushing benefits.
So firstly your skin needs to be clean, dry and free of oils (and no makeup if brushing your face – which has an entirely different brushing pattern) and also, you’re probably not wearing clothes.
Then you will literally brush your palms, back of hands, inside and backside of arms, elbows, shoulders, back, spine, armpits, neck, décolleté, sides of chest, stomach, rear, legs, knees, and feet … nearly your entire body. Again, this special pattern of body brushing “exercises” your skin, accelerates your body’s ability to release toxins and can improve your metabolism. #Yay
After you brush your entire body, it’s followed up by a very interesting (and your skin feels so fab!) hydration process. Learn more about all of the T-Tapp programs here.
Now, you might be wondering why, other than the benefits I’ve already noted, I specifically wanted to try this system out? Well, I have three areas that take up all of my brain space consuming my every thought are REALLY showing my age; my neck, my knees and my elbows — ALL are starting to crepe.
I am actually seeing some changes on my elbows and knees …
… however I’m still waiting for my neck to catch up!
Ok ~ so, back to the question … is skin brushing for you? Only YOU can decide. If you have the slightest bit of concern, you should consult with a doctor or a dermatologist, etc. as I’m just a fashion/lifestyle blogger trying to keep her skin tight. Meanwhile ~ I shall continue to brush. Happy Friday, everyone!
I used to do skin brushing all the time. I need to get back into it again.
I have heard it is a really important thing to do–now perhaps I’ll try it. Many thanks for the encouragement!
It IS a process — but I just have to stop and take the time to do it.
I definately plan to try this. Proving it’s never too late to learn something new and never give up on your skin
Big thankxx Jamie
so true, Jane!
Girl…I barely can remember to put lotion on this dry, old body! Hahaha
This sounds very interesting though and something that I should definitely try for myself. Thanks for sharing!

The second step of hydration does big time. Its all very interesting.
Love this post Jamie—I have dry skin and am always moisturizing, but never thought of the dry brushing. Will definitely give this a try! Thank you!
Living in NM … I’m totally “dry skin girl” … but this process has helped me.
YES! I’ve been hearing about this but never get around to buying the required brush. I didn’t realise you can do it on the neck though. Is the skin not too delicate? My turkey neck could do with regeneration that’s for sure 😉
Yes you can — at least with the CRT program I used. There’s a specific way to brush your neck (and your face … though the face uses a different brush) …. and there’s a specific way to brush the rest of your body. This was interesting to me because there are areas of the body that hold inflammation and brushing a certain way on those areas helps to eliminate that inflation.
I used to work with special needs children, and every morning when they entered the classroom, they were required to “get brushed”, very similar to the way you were describing. It calms and prepares them for the day ahead on a positive path. So the benefits seems to me are both physical and emotional. And as for Dr Perricone, he’s been in practice a few towns over from me for years. He certainly know his stuff.
oh, wow, that’s very interesting Cheryl. Thank you for sharing that.
Earlier came across this subject of skin brushing, was a bit skeptical about it. But now I think it really does improve metabolism.
Skin brushing would be something I need to give more thought to, regarding its effect on my mild skin. Just as you said, my dermatologist would know better.
I have very bad vascular blood circulation. Never thought about doing skin brushing. I gotta try this out. Thanks for the info
I have dry skin and love this skin brush. Removes the dead skin and stimulates the area.
Seen someone in a cosmetic group I belong to recommend a skin brush. Where do I buy?
