Today’s blog post is less about my cute eyelash lace top …

… that I thought that by pairing it with a large metal chain necklace, studded jacket & cuff and fab booties made it look way less “fem” and way more cool. #Way
…and more about a quick story I’d like share.
When I was in my car accident back in December, I had just wrapped up a New Year’s Eve fashion segment with Soft Surroundings on Good Day New Mexico that we recorded as the segment would air a few days later. The day of my accident was the day the segment aired and I had intended on sharing it on social media, etc. but … well, I was laying in the emergency room. So I sent a note to my contact at Soft Surroundings the next day to thank them for asking me to be a part of that segment and to inform them that I had been in a terrible car accident.
A few days after chatting with Soft Surroundings, this super comfy and OH-SO-Snuggly robe arrived at my home …
along with this neck and shoulder wrap! Inside was a note advising me to rest, get well and to let me know that they (Soft Surroundings) were thinking of me. In other words ~ they cared about me as a person! How lovely and special is that? Their gesture really meant a lot to me.
I have enjoyed wearing this robe so much (and wearing it DOES cause everyone around you to want to totally cuddle with you) and today I wanted to share with you that you will receive $10 off your Soft Surroundings order (now until April 15, 2018) by using code SPRINGFLING at check out. Show them YOUR love, save a little bank and treat yourself to something soft here. Happy Shopping!
.
Are you healed from the car accident? What a lush robe.
Physically, yes. Mentally … hmmm. I’m getting there. Just very nervous when I drive. (I take side roads whereever I can) XO!
Robe must be the cuddliest ever! Driving ease will return slowly.
Patience is the word.
What a wonderful side note, Jamie!! Hopefully you are doing better—those events tend to stay with us for years….
XOXO

I’m so glad you don’t have to drive that patch of highway anymore…
Just by looking at that robe, you can tell it’s soft! Great color too!
It’s a goodie!
You make soft look soooo good!
Thank you, my friend!
Gorgeous color on you! Stay warm and cozy 🙂
Well, it’s darn close to “turquoise” right?!
Wow! I did not know you were in an accident. My best to you Jaime! Hope you are on the mend and thankfully your are healing everyday….
I was, Mitchie. In-between Christmas and NY …. rush hour morning traffic, I fainted behind the wheel of my car while driving on the highway. I had tripped and fell the morning of the accident while running and “they” (Drs) think I might have had a mild concussion (and low blood sugar) which caused me to faint. I was completely out for nearly 20 minutes. totaled my brand new car — I remember NONE of it.
I take car driving very easy now …
Jaime, Oh my Gosh! I did not realize and I may have missed it! I am so sorry. We all need to take driving seriously. Thank Goodness you are doing better but I get it, this does tricks on us mentally. Take care of you! I know I can speak for many, we love your style and the way you may it look so effortless. BTW, i just received my purchase from Ebags! Getting ready for a trip to San Francisco to do a fun run and needed a nice crossbody!
Thanks so much, Mitchie! Enjoy that trip and don’t you lOVE Ebags??!
I’m not gonna lie…I teared up reading your post. That is…”just plain kind” of Soft Surrounding to think of you. I will remember that when I walk into their store from now on. As for YOU, take your time with the driving, you’ll get there (no pun). ;))
I KNOW, Cheryl, it was such a LOVELY gesture on their part and it made me tear up, as well.
As for me – I’m doing better. Just have the jitters behind the wheel of the car — so I’ve pretty much been ubering it everywhere. (or con other people to drive me!) — thank you for your nice message. XO
Jamie, just read posts, on accident. Glad to hear your ok. Give yourself alittle time to mend, I enjoy reading and seeing your blogs. You are a inspiration to my fashion challenges. Lol grace and healing to you!
Thank you for your concern and kind words, Teresa! Every day just gets better and I don’t even really think about it all that much BUT I’m an entirely different driver … staying in the right hand lane (I was driving in the fast lane when I fainted), going slow for the most part.
Car accidents are so much more than you see on the outside! Glad you are slowly easing back into things, and grateful you’re healing. What a thoughtful gesture by Soft Surroundings. – Loving today’s outfit mix-up! 😎
You’re so right about car accidents. I’ve never really been in one and this was a doozy! (and YES – SS was so thoughtful!)
Good Morning Jamie,
Thank you for sharing. I have lifted you in prayer to God for complete healing from the concussion, and that He restores your confidence behind the wheel again. Yes, you need a [new] car to get where you need to go but you are much more valuable than your car [which can be replaced]. Jamie, do you know how much joy you bring into the lives of [busy] women [like me!] through this blog? Speaking for myself, I appreciate you. That incident reminded me of one I had while living in S. Florida in 2004. My red sports car was rear-ended by a distracted driver who claimed he was reaching for a rag to wipe off the front windshield.
I thought that what the defogger was for. My car was propelled into the back of a pickup truck–completely totaled (it looked like an accordion). The accident turned into a 4-car pileup. After many visits to the chiropractor and my attorney, the case was settled a year later, leaving me with a check for $25K. I had a job at that time and of necessity, had to regain my confidence back quickly. It was very thoughtful of Soft Surroundings to reach out to you with that fab comfy robe and shoulder wrap. And of course, I can’t end this message without mentioning how adorable Sir Blu and Sir Valentino are. Please give them both loving pats for me. You’re the best my friend. Hugs from West Virginia!
What, Alicia – that was quite an accident! So glad you are ok now. Thank you for the lovely comments about my blog (and of course, my doggies!)
My pleasure!
