Brighton And The City

Today I’m talking about Brighton ~ a brand I have loved since the 90’s and frankly, anything that Brighton was puttin’ out … I was puttin’ on! 

Established in 1991 and known primarily for their handbags, jewelry, belts and shoes, TODAY their line up also includes small leather goods, home products, ornaments, tableware AND fragrances! Brighton sells mainly in boutique retail stories, their own namesake stores and online  and, to be honest, they had not been on my radar for awhile until a few months ago when they appeared in my Instagram feed.  SO glad they did because they’re just as fab NOW as they have always been!  Let’s me show you what I’m talking about. 

My friend Kelley, (from 50shadesofstylebyKelley – who also shares a love of Brighton) and I went to NYC together to attend the Manhattan Vintage Show (more on that on a future post) and we decided to bring a few pieces of Brighton along with us.  

Kelley and I had started our day wearing our Brighton on a morning walk through Central Park – the ONE day on our trip where it was not pouring down rain.  (WATCH our pieces in action HERE ) My favorite Brighton pieces that I wore on the walk were the Janis studded sneakers (because they’re cool!)  and my phone organizer, which safely held my phone, credit cards, room key ,etc.   Check out all their different phone organizers HERE. 

We then returned to our room at the Renaissance Midtown (great hotel with fab views and chic lounges)  to clean up so we could venture out to see all that NYC has to offer. I wore the below Brighton pieces:

I love a little menswear-inspired moment and as awesome as my boots were, my Mingle belt was potentially even better! That’s because it’s REVERSIBLE (black croco on one side and a creamy biscotti-hued croco on the other) and I had forgotten that Brighton had always been a reliable go-to for a nice selection of reversible belts. Did I mention that it’s only $64??!  Shop my belt HERE and Brighton’s current selection of belts HERE.  WATCH  how the entire outfit came together HERE. 

Later I changed into this look for dinner and wore these Brighton pieces:

I need to give an extra shout out to their Christo Toledo wide cuff bracelet because it’s really 3 bracelets in 1! You can remove the leather band on the cuff and just wear it as a silver cuff and/or wear with the leather band which is … wait for it … also reversible!  One side is black, the other is a creamy white.  The “white” is not as creamy as the “white” on the Mingle belt noted above but they would pair quite nicely together. It’s a WINNER!   

Now, the next day we attended the Manhattan Vintage Show where I nabbed some SERIOUSLY fabulous vintage pieces and I will share them on a future blog post.  Meanwhile you can read about this show HERE as it’s pretty much a must attend.
