Did you know that I have a menswear background? Yep ~ sure do.  Just ask my twin brother pictured below.

Waaay back in the day (in my case, the early 90’s), I was a menswear buyer and that job is what really introduced me to fashion … and, frankly, I never looked back.

I am trained in classic (traditional)  menswear attire.  A classic/traditional suit, a classic/traditional mens sport coat, a fab classic/traditional shoe and what they were once called, classic/traditional “furnishings” ~  meaning all the accessories that go with; dress shirts, ties, socks, etc.

I pretty much know everything one needs to know about how these items should fit and fall on the body, where a slack should break on the shoe, the proper sleeve length and, of course, the all important difference between braces and suspenders.  … you know the difference, right? You also know the answer to the question “Should the sock match the slack or should the sock match the shoe?” … right? … Lower the collar? … ok, I’ll stop.

Anyhoo, we all know that women help dress the men (hubby, boyfriend, son, grandson) in their lives.  Should I do a little Menswear 101?

Hmmm … I’m thinkin’ there’s a new video in my future.
