Well, this is it ~ the last post from my fabulous GF trip to Mexico. Writing these posts have been a joy, as it allows me to mentally travel back there.  As you saw in these two posts, (1 and 2) Shauna, SheShe and myself truly had a blast!

The one thing that the three of us really learned from this trip is the importance of working with an expert ~ someone who has a passion for barefoot luxury travel and has the ability to create custom itineraries rich with culture, activity, wellness and nature. Let me please reintroduce you to Nina Ornstein of The Paradise Story.  She was our such expert … and a total cutie-poo.

Nina  introduced us to a Mexico we had never seen before ~ undiscovered paradise gems, fabulous boutique hotels and family-owned properties full of love and lots of personality! Nina works with small groups of travelers to organize their dream vacations and she specializes in bachelorette and GIRLFRIEND getaways.  Our trip to Mexico could have easy defaulted  to chips, salsa and margaritas while staying at a very touristy place had it not been for Nina and her fine guidance.  Using her services made for an immensely memorable trip … TOTALLY bespoke.

Although I shared so many of the activities that we did on my two previous posts, scanning my iPhone and photographers photos, had me realizing that I did not properly highlight two fabulous experiences from Todos Santos that Nina curated for us.

The first experience was to participate in a  Sea Turtle hatchling release.  Tortugueros Las Playitas A.C. is an environmental conservation who’s mission is to protect, conserve and replenish the fragile marine eco-systems of Baja California Sur, Mexico. They also strive to protect these turtles from predators, including humans (ATVs and poachers) along with birds, dogs and other wildlife.

These cute little turtles hatch daily and volunteers run organized releases for only a 50 pecos donation. You then get to name your turtle, release your turtle ….

and then cheer them on as they get swept into their new life in the wild Pacific Ocean.

You may also get a little bit wet.

All totally worth it – thanks to our new #BajaBabe, Nina.

And the other adventure we were treated to was a cooking lesson at La Palapa del Sabor where owner, Christina Madabas, rolls out the red carpet.

Christina was also, interestingly, a commercial pilot and second to flying ~ cooking is her passion.  Besides serving up yummy meals to her patrons and cooking lessons for groups, Christina is available for private catering and the restaurant hosts live Mariachi music on Saturday nights!

For our lesson, head chef Dora taught us how to make Pescado Veracruz using fresh from the ocean yellow tail fish.

Adding to the fish was fresh garlic, bell peppers, caper, green olives and wine … the meal quickly became a delight to our eyes.

Served up with black beans and rice ~ it was YUMMO!

BTW  ~ this was our crazy, fun server, Paco, and if you mention The Paradise Story while you’re there you’ll receive a free “Paco-Mole” guacamole with your drinks or meal. #YoureWelcome

AGAIN ~ these two extra experiences, along with all the other fabulous things we did while there, are the reasons one should solicit the services of an expert.  Nina also provided each of us with a fun memory bag that included products from Vegamour, Sun & Sell Foods, these fab sunnies from Wyeth Eyewear and

InLakesh woven visors which we wore while jokingly hitching a ride to the airport. ... a few people actually stopped.   #MEMORIES

So if you’re dreaming of a quick, fun and unforgettable girlfriend trip (or a getaway with family) consider working with a pro.  We were only in Mexico for 5 days (two of which were essentially travel days) and Nina made our trip one for the books!  Contact Nina HERE.

***  Thank you SO much to Nina Ornstein of the Paradise Story for sponsoring this fabulous trip.  Where are we going to next???
