From time to time I like to keep things LOCAL over here on the blog and have I shared with you that I am a Tastemaker… a what?   Yep ~ I am a Tastemaker for the New Mexico Artisan Market and was part of a team of experts who juried artisans to bring all you LOCALS (and all you FABULOUS readers who might consider visiting New Mexico sometime) the very best artisans that New Mexico has to offer across a variety of creative categories.

The New Mexico Artisan Market will be held Nov 23 – Nov 25 and is a MUST attend.  We’ve all been actively involved in it since the beginning of 2018 and, frankly, not only am I giggly and excited about it ~ I plan on creating a video on it, as well. Let me please just share a little bit more.

Firstly, and in my opinion, the fact that this market includes the Queen herself, Patricia Michaels, is MAJOR. If you’re a long time follower of my blog, you then know that Patricia was first runner up in Project Runway, she is an amazing fashion designer and I am so thrilled that I know her. Our video together makes me cackle out loud every time I watch it. #LOVEHER

Ok ~ clearly I’m excited that Patricia will be showing, but I’d also like to introduce you to just a few of the fantastic artisans you will meet if/when you shop the New Mexico Artisan market.  Starting with cutie pie hat maker, Jessi Lloyd from Grey Collective Hats, who came by my home to give me a sneak peek at a few hats from her latest collection.

Jessi’s hats are crafted with meticulous attention to detail and she uses only the finest in quality materials.  She is DARLING and the Grey Collective was created with the hope that one day there will be a cure for all types of brain cancer … a cancer that her husband has an incurable form of.  If for no other reason, you must stop by the market simply to meet her.

Jessi is positive and STRONG and she will donate 20% of all profits from ready-to-wear and custom hats, and 50%-100% of the profits from art hats to the Ben and Catherine Ivy Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment.

WHO needs a new hat??? I DO!!!

You’re going to totally want to stop by and meet Chelsy Spicer from Spiced Ink.  I mean ~ swoon, swoon, swoon, swoon … SWOON!!!

I’ve been stalking Chelsy’s work since the day her application was submitted. (she even does custom skull pieces!)  I’m comin’ at you, Chelsy!

Cesar Ugarte, of Leather 42,  tools the most beautiful handbags, BELTS and travel cases this side of the Mississippi … and of anyplace else.

Nyeari:  Sheko and Sarkis, of Nyearim were drawn together through a mutual admiration of timeless artifacts and a passion for the unconventional.  Sheko has a Masters degree in Fine Arts and is a founding member of the artists collaborative, The Institute for Wishful Thinking. Sarkis, a classically trained jeweler, worked in wholesale production for 20 years with prestigious design houses including Kwiat, Tiffany, Paloma Picasso, J & H Flyer and House of Clasps.

Feel free to drape me in whatever you’d like, Nyeari.  I’ll be there bright and early on the 23rd. Thanks!  ***  I’ll bring the coffee.

Got to swing by Cacao Santa Fe because … well….
