It used to be that when someone told me that I should really give COVERGIRL or MABELLINE makeup a try because their products can be just as good as designer and high-end makeup brands, I would think to myself “Yep ~ I feel you. I’ll just be over here enjoying my Clé De Peau liquid foundation.”
But since my discovery of French drugstore beauty products ( … read that post here and I’m always so pleasantly surprised that to this day, people will still email me about it …) I have a completely open mind to trying makeup from Walgreens, CVS , Target and the like. Take for example these fab lippies from pixi.
This kit is essentially the Bonne Bell Lip Smacker set of days gone by TIMES 1,000! These MatteLast Liquid Lippies provide major color, last ALL day and hydrate. Oh ~ and they’re only $14 each. #ChanelWho?
So, am I concerned that a high-end makeup user might judge me if I pull a pixi out of my makeup bag? … Psh. Effective products that look killer and inexpensive prices are a total WIN in my book.

I really like NYX concealer and foundations.
Yep – and I use their eyeshadow base daily, Beth.
I’m definitely going to give these a try! I like the Pixi setting spray, too.
YESSS! That’s a goodie!
Absolutely agree with you 100% Jamie! Don’t get me wrong I love my Chanel but if I’m honest it’s more about the beautiful packaging than the product. That said, I love the minimal style of Pixi too. Now that you’ve confirmed how awesome it is, Imma get me some 😉
Packaging girl over here. I’m such a sucker.
To be honest…I love all drugstore products, I actually combine my favorites a lot of the ones you have list or pictures here and they last me all day long as well as into the night too! This allows me my coins to be spent on SHOES! lol,
Carolyn —- I like how you think !!!
I’m an equal opportunity cosmetics inquisotor. I have tried and currently use skincare & makes up from all price points. You just never know…useless you try. And what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for another. Keep an open mind.
Me, too, Cheryl. And I especially love a lower priced product that does a superior job.
