I’d love to say that I avoided spending money before I head back to New York City for the 3rd time in the past 6 weeks but these darn Chico’s sales get me every time!

Why am I heading back again, you ask? Well ~ I’m meeting up with these fab influencer/girlfriends and Chico’s is bringing us all together.
Left to right: Deborah from Fabulous After 40, Lisa from The Silver Stylist,, Shawna from Chic Over 50 and Susan from The Midlife Fashionista.
.
Back in January, Chico’s invited a group of influencers (16 to be exact – myself included!) for an amazing trip to NYC for break-out listening sessions on their current #HowBoldAreYou campaign. (first watch their AWESOME campaign video here. …. and then see how I participated in their campaign here.)
They treated us fabulously, paid for every little expense that we had, sent drivers to our homes and to the airports to take us to and fro … but perhaps most importantly, they asked our OPINIONS on everything. What were they doing right? What were they doing wrong and/or could be better? What do we like about XYZ . Frankly, it was refreshing because no matter how we answered their questions, they were taking notes and would press us on how we answered so that they could fully understand how and why we answered the way that we did. Now seriously ~ WHAT BRAND DOES THIS???
So anyhoo, the reason we are all returning to NYC is to attend a special event for this campaign and if you follow along on Instagram, I’ll share all the behind-the-scenes scoop. (Psst ~ word on the street is there will be a fun celebrity appearance!)
Meanwhile, shop the hard to resist Chico’s sales for yourself. Happy Weekend, everyone!

I love Chico’s. They’re the best. I’m getting the clutch with the tassels.
We will then be clutch twins, Beth!
This is exactly what all companies need to do—
You’re going to have a blast!!
XOXO

Chico’s has the most amazing sales!
Can’t wait to follow along on IG stories!
Looking forward to seeing you Jamie! I can’t wait to see what Chicos has planned! They really do GET women our age. XO Deb
Jamie—–Enjoy NYC and Chico’s! It does not get any better than that!
Chico’s definitely is doing everything they can to understand the needs of their customers and women with their brand! And they truly care and that to me is wonderfully refreshing! Can’t wait to see you Jamie!
XO
I would love for Chico’s to become bolder. I do still shop there (sometimes) and think of them as a place to find basics in a basic palette. But I seldom see anything there that truly rings my bell. And I don’t shop there nearly as much as I once did.
On the plus side, what they do well (for me) includes white blouses (love their no-iron long-sleeve blouses and continue to stock up on theirs in preference to anyone else’s), their sleeveless tanks in many colors, and their Zynergy athleisure line — such breathable fabrics and combinable with more structured pieces that can be worn all day.
What they don’t do well (for me) are funky jackets that shout “I bought this at Chico’s.” To my eye, their jackets and other third pieces haven’t changed in ten years.
A few months ago I did buy there a lovely unlined, spring-weight rosy-red coat that has seen much rotation. So kudos on that one.
To be clear, I do appreciate their basic palette — you can’t go wrong with black/white/beige/blue/red. However, it would be interesting to see what Chico’s could add to that mix with less predictable colors and color combos and graphic prints. Think Dries van Noten-inspired pieces.
I guess what I’m saying is that Chico’s does well what it’s been doing for a long time. I used to think of them as modern. But they can’t still be considered modern when they’re selling what they were producing 10-12 years ago.
And believe me, if I didn’t care I wouldn’t be typing all this. 🙂
Thank you for writing, Ann – and many of your concerns were discussed in our listening sessions. I am a HUGE fan of Black Label and, of course, the Synergy collection, as well. OH— and YES, their white blouses!
Wish I was going…sounds like to me a whole lotta fun!!!!
