GIRLFRIENDS. The relationships we have with other women are SO important in our lives and become even MORE SO as we grow older.
I recently met a whole new set of girlfriends through the successful launch of the Fierce 50 Campaign where 50 female bloggers, all over the age of 50, came together to celebrate the power of midlife. This collaboration of women has since created amazing content, offered advice on styling, health and finances, provided us with the opportunity to participate in forums and, most importantly, gave us a basis to form lasting and lifelong friendships.
So imagine just how excited we were to learn that Chico’s … yes, you all know my LOVE of Chico’s! … would embrace just exactly what this campaign was all about. Firstly, by gifting all 50 of us *Fiercers* with a special Girlfriend bracelet, each made from different gemstones and THEN went so far as to get a few of us together for a fabulous Girlfriend Jean collaboration … and little ‘ole me got to join in on the fun!
Armed with my current favorite pair of Chico’s Girlfriend Jeans, I packed for a quick trip to sunny California to meet up with the other girls.
So it was there in Rodondo Beach, California, where I met Kathy from Kathy Kaehler, Cathy from The Middle Page, Catherine from Catherine Grace Co, Shauna from Chic Over 50, Deborah from Fabulous After 40 and Glenda from So What To Twenty.

Just a few fun snippets about my new girlfriends:

- Kathy: Fitness Hall of Famer, healthy living spokesperson and a TOTALLY cool chick! Listen to her fab LA Talk Radio Show here.
- Cathy: Since I spent much of my young adult years living in Texas, I immediately connected to Cathy. She is sweet as sweet can be and her hair color consumes my every thought.
- Catherine: Tall, thin and model gorgeous. She has the heartiest, MOST fun laugh that makes everyone else laugh even when they don’t know what they’re laughing about.
- Shauna: Cute as a button, has the most gorgeous skin and FIT … like rock solid fit.
- Deborah: Deb has actually been my buddy for many years. We’ve attended shows at NYFW together, as well as other blogger events, however we had never actually roomed together before and we did so on this trip. I was happy to discover that she is a non-snorer. I love her even more!
- Glenda: One of the very first over 50 style bloggers to collaborate with Chico’s. She has a kind heart and soul and … let me please just say … FIERCE style.
Our Girlfriend Jean collaboration/photo session was a healthy mix of girlfriends and fashion, plus a whole lot of FUN. But don’t just take my word for it ~ see for yourself!
