Please allow me to share a major observation/realization I had over this past weekend.
You know, I blog about a lot of things here … primarily fashion. I also blog about more personal things such as my sometimes smaller, often larger muffin top and depending upon how much of this magic stuff I apply, my lines and wrinkles.
Oh ~ and let’s not forget when I shared that at some point and time my upper lip packed its bags and disappeared in the middle of the night.
But one thing I’ve never actually shared is that I, like Nora Ephron, feel bad about my neck.
And this past weekend, while drafting future blog posts and going through images, I realized that I was literally deleting something like 90% of my pictures simply because I was not loving how my necked looked in them. That’s right, if my neck wasn’t looking like a neck 10 years its junior, that pic was outta here. Yes … ridiculous.
So right then and there, I made the decision to end that kind of wackadoodle thinking immediately. I mean, my neck is my neck. It is what it is … and so I’m happy to report that I have officially embraced my neck! 🎉 … And I’m not turnin’ back.
D a n g … that was liberating!
A l r i g h t y then, let’s talk about how this outfit has me up to my neck in fab deals! The kimono, of which I received numerous comments on, is under $13, the stretch black pants are under $16 and
these brand new, never worn Jeffrey Campbell studded heels that I recently scored while thrifting with whosaprettygirl were under $90. #GoodStuff
And that’s exactly what I’m going to be focusing on …
The good stuff.

I embraced my neck a long time ago and your lip comment is so funny. I’ve always wondered about the instantly ageless products and wondered if they really worked. Are they cakey or drying?
Hi Donna,
If you put too much on then it can leave a film. I find that it just takes the edge off and softens under and around the eyes. I may have to embrace that area sometime as well… but, you know, … baby steps. 😄
Well you can pack up ALL that whackadoodle thinking. Personally, I think you look GREAT.
Thank you, Gabrielle 😘
Love it!!
Liberating, my friend!
The trick is to LOVE yourself – this includes all of you body. Love your body and it will love you back. I turned 78 yesterday. Love the way I look and feel. Not the way I looked in the past- don’t know how it will be in the future just today. And you my friend are rockin it every day while keeping us all in the grove. Big Thankxx
Thanks so much, Jane! You are such an inspiration 😊 and I totally love and admire you and your sense of style.
Oh my…I can’t get past the neck thing. Yours is beautiful…mine will forever be photoshopped!
😄😄😘
Woman! You and your neck are fab! Your style is just the candle on the cake! And your personality shines through it all!
Awhhh – thank you, Kim!
Honestly! I’ve never even thought of my neck, nor others necks for the most part!! I just take in the Big Picture of anyone, and always have!
