I do. I workout EVERY single day. Are you arching your eyebrows like crazy high?
I just feel like a slug if I don’t. I didn’t, however, always have this discipline. You may not know this, but I’ve been pretty much every size in the book. YEP ~ I’ve been a size 0 and a size 18…and every size in between. I know what every size feels like and I can absolutely relate to anyone who struggles with their weight.
You know what I used to always avoid? Mirrors.
Besides a proper diet, the only way I have been able to stay a consistent size for the past 15 years is to exercise in some fashion. So, let’s talk Exercise Fashion… a/k/a Workout Apparel.

I’m a runner, walker, cyclist and weight lifter…and an occasional hot yoga sweat-er. It doesn’t really matter what form of exercise you do…but you’ve just got to do something! Of course, you know, discuss with your doctor before you start an exercise program and all that stuff.
Walking is probably the easiest form of exercise there is. We walk all day long. Instead of just your normal walkin’ around, have you ever considered setting a goal for yourself to increase your daily movement?
Why not walk for a cause? I just signed up for The Mother of all Walks! Walk like MADD and Madd Dash. Learn more about this future family friendly 5K Walk/Run here. The event supports the New Mexico chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. Mark your calender: Saturday, June 14, 2014.

And, you know how you don’t want to carry your purse on a walk, but yet you need to have a few items with you?
Check out A Perfect Pocket. Now you can put your necessary items in this pocket, peel off the paper backing and then apply it to clean, dry skin. Awesome! Even Awesomer ~ A Perfect Pocket is based right here in New Mexico.
So, really, you’ve just gotta get movin’…
Just looking at every thing is a work out!
HA! no substitute for exercise.
Had to take the time to respond. Love your message. I too have been a few different sizes and life after baby was never the same 10 years later but I make it a point to get me workout in at least 4 days a week. I feel better and the mirror’s are not as painful.
I feel it helps sometimes to wear a workout outfit that makes you feel good. Yes, its not the way I like to spend my money but it seems to have a smiling effect when I look good, I feel good!
Thank you for taking the time to post such a great comment. I totally agree that the right workout outfit can make you feel good. I’ve been the same size now for about 15 years but it is a constant struggle. Oh…and aging doesn’t help!
This is one of my fav posts! I think as women we are subject to an unreal body image and working in retail fashion I know this to be SO true. Why not look great to feel motivated to workout?!?
I find working out to be “me time”. Doing yoga helps center me for the day and walking gets my mind wondering and the creative juices following. Thanks for this morning inspiration. Now to hit the yoga mat. Namaste.
Namaste, girl friend.
Jamie – As you know, maintaining a good weight and size is just not possible when we don’t exercise. We don’t have to love doing it; we just have to do it. You are a Mistress of Discipline. Which sounds dirty when I write it, but you know what I mean.
Is it weird of me that I actually like how that sounds?
I love that you shared your weight struggle. It would be easy for a regular reader of your blog to just think you’ve been one of those women who has never had a problem with her weight. Appreciate you sharing. You’re the best!
I can’t get over the Perfect Pocket…and it’s homegrown!
I work out everyday. I start everyday with a success and that sets the tone of my day. I do events like the MADD Walk and Dash, but mostly I enjoy the training. I do the events because I can. If you’re out there, somewhere, I’m out there too.
