I had a rough week last week. The kind of week that makes you want to “stay in your bathrobe and eat an entire bag of Nutter Butter cookies” kind of week.

You see, last week I fell during my morning run. Suddenly, out of nowhere, this pothole appeared…and POP…there went my ankle. I was in such pain! I actually wasn’t sure if I would be able to pick myself up or not. Laying there in the dirt, the most horrifying thought occurred to me ~
Are my heel wearing days over with? NOOOOOOOOO!
Ok, so once I got my head in the right frame of mind, I accepted the fact that flats may be in my future (or, at least for a few days). It’s one thing to elect to wear flat, comfortable shoes ~ it’s another to be forced into it.
To not be able to wear heels is just simply: Tragic.
I decided that since I was stuck with this situation, I needed to find the most fab pairs of flats around. Guess what? I think I did.
This Tinsel T-Strap is right up my alley.
I think this pair is super adorable…as are these! hmmm…ok, flats don’t seem so bad now.
These Sam Edelmans are grrrrreat….but so is this cute Kate Spade.
Might as well add a bit of (on sale!) bling to my feet with these. Or this Nine West option would work too. How is one to decide?
I find myself loving this Marc Jacobs leather espadrille ~ with similar looks here and here.
But THESE have totally consumed my every thought! I. really. really. need. this. pair!
So, ok…I guess flats really can be pretty and fabulous. Right? I mean, they can look just as great as heels. Right?

Hope your ankle gets better ! High is better than low.
You’ll look terrific, either in flats or stilettos…and your curation of flat styles is just great, Jamie. Thanks for giving me something to dream about on a Wednesday.
Your foot is NOT, I hope, in a cast, is it???? On the other hand (so to speak), in that case you would only need ONE of EACH of the above (since it’s basically impossible to choose among them!).
I shudder to think about not wearing my heels! Damn you sprained ankles and lower back pain!!! 😉
I KNOW!! I’m slowly wiggling my way back into them.
I hope your ankle is well real soon. I could never get used to flats last summer when I had that bummed knee.
I’m going to wear heels and place all my weight on my other foot. That should do the trick. I just won’t walk.
I looked at that Perfect Stitch pair from Mod Cloth and immediately thought – Downtown Abbey!
Yes- you’re right!
Hey- Your worry about heals is fine, but next time watch “wear” you’re going!
har har!
Confession…married a shorter man on purpose so I could wear flats…and quite the collection has resulted. Holiday winner…Giorgio Armani spectator flats!
I married a shorter guy too…i want to wear heels! (Armani spectator flats are fab, though, my friend)
Ouch, Jamie! Sorry to hear about this development —– I’m feeling your pain! Glad to see you’re making lemonade out of lemons, though.
My heels and I WILL be back in short time!
