My Escape To London and Paris

I escaped to London and Paris for 10 days and BOY, did your girl need this trip! With the exception of a couple of jaunts to Las Vegas, my hubby and I hadn’t really traveled anywhere since Covid started so it was really nice to just be in NEW surroundings. 

Long-time followers know that I travel to Paris often and this was actually my 36th trip there!   I’ve also traveled to London 3-4 times now so everything was still pretty familiar to us. Although it was all quite fun, it rained … and I mean RAINED … nearly the entire trip. It didn’t matter tho, we were away!

Today I’m just sharing bits and pieces from the trip AND to let you know that I am still alive.

Here’s how it all went done, starting with arriving in London.  We arrived very early in the morning and all you international travelers know that this is the hardest day as you must try to stay awake for as long as you can.  We mainly just walked around for the day, although I was able to shoot this video  to capture our arrival. 

On any trip that we take, I am still at work.  I always have some form of content that I need to shoot and I was able to shoot some for a collaboration with Jack Rogers USA.  I pretended that this was shot at night,  but in reality it was shot very early in the morning the day after our arrival because OF COURSE we woke up at 1:30 am! So we got up and did it. #JetlagIsLegit

We had just this one additional day in London before we hoped on the Eurostar train to Paris via the English Channel. If you’ve never traveled this route to Paris (and back) before I highly recommend it as it’s far more cost effective than flying and super quick and easy.  You’re really only under the channel for about 20-ish minutes (you just have to NOT to go *there* in your head!) and the rest of the time you’re above ground looking at the beautiful countryside. 

We arrived in Paris and stayed at the Hotel Manzart which was literally just  steps aways from Place Vendome. 

While in Paris we always take early morning walks as we like to watch the city wakeup.  

The above is how my hubby felt the next morning after his 3 martini at the Ritz Paris … also steps away from where we were staying.

The below is the Les Deux Plateaux where every Influencer feels compelled to pose.  I did not pose there and I don’t regret it one bit.  (*mainly because I’ve posed there before. #wink)

While in Paris we went to Marche Puces Saint Ouen,  the World’s largest antique and flea market, which, IMO, is a MUST see. 

 It is there where I score my vintage earrings and I always make a point to visit Heidi and Jason at AU GRENIER DE LUCIE. 

On this trip I nabbed this beautiful pair of vintage Gavilane earrings. 

That I love so much I wanted to wear them to bed. 

I was able to shoot some fun content in our hotel room wearing cute Printfresh jams and slippers …

… before heading out to theTerrace at Galeries Lafayette.

It’s the best place to get an unobstructed view of the city! 

CLEARLY I like to point at objects off in the distance.

Ok now, FRIENDS!  If you find yourself in Paris over the next few months I highly encourage you to check out the Elsa Schiaparelli exhibit  at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.  There’s just one word that best describes it:  DIVINE!!!

I mean …. HELLO!! 

So on my last day in Paris (as known as the day that it rained the least) I shot a quick video for French Kande jewelry and I literally had a group of ladies come up to me to ask if I was wearing French Kande. 

It turns out they were visiting Paris from North Carolina and have a boutique in the local area that sells FK pieces and they asked if they could take pictures.  Not so much of ME, but rather of the jewelry so they could see if their local store carried what I was wearing.  (*If only they knew that they could just click here to shop!) 

Anyhoo ~ here’s the video that I shot while strolling the streets of Paris in my FK. I really like how it turned out.

And then the extremely tired (and light packer) ME took the Eurostar train back to England …

… where my husband and I stayed at the Hotel Du Vin Cannizaro House in Wimbledom.  It was unbelievably gorge and totally worth staying at, but if you like the hustle and bustle of London, this is not your place.  For 2 weeks out of every year Wimbeldom is a complete zoo, but the rest of the year it’s a quiet, charming little town that I’m so glad I was able to experience. 

We were, however, at this point ready to go home  … and so we did.
