Let’s talk about my hair … and perhaps talk about YOUR hair, too? My last professional cut, color and highlight was back in early March and this natural dark blonde (or level 6 blonde for those of you who understand hair stylist speak) has had to get VERY creative in her postings lately.
I have, or course, tried to conceal my large enough to land a drone on runway of dark root growth by reaching for the obvious; HATS.
I’ve also sported the occasional beanie ….
… as well as a few cute visors.
Additionally, I’ve used strategic hand positioning and shadows …
and pictures taken from farther away.
And, guess what? You’re still probably going to see me post the same kind of images BUT I have decided to give myself a bit of a break. I’m going to keep my hair as healthy as it can be, play with different hair styles and I’ve already been behind-the-scenes trying out some temporary color washes to see how my hair might look a bit darker, a bit redder and YES, even a bit GRAYer. (a little tear just fell out of my eye when I typed the word gray.)
How are you guys handling your hair situation?
Wellllll………I have trimmed mine about 6 weeks ago. My hair has a lot of body and has some curl to it. So if I messed up when I cut it, you could not tell since it’s also thick, therefore very forgiving and you can’t tell if I mess up the cut! 😜
I have an appointment June 10 for a cut.
I always color and highlight my own hair.
I now own stock in Batiste colored dry shampoo. (Ha!)
Love the hat stylin’, Jamie–looks great! I also have the gray ‘runway’ up top, so I’ve been playing with up-do’s, scrunchies (yes, I dug through my closet and found some!) and strategically placed combs and clips. 🙂 I am sooooo happy to report that my stylist called me this week–she will be able to re-open on Monday. Guess who has an appointment next week??? #YIPPEE Enjoy your weekend GF!
I ‘may’ have a scrunchie … (or two.) Veronica. xo!
I’ve been enjoying my gray hair for the past 20 years, when I gave up highlighting it. However, I wear my hair quite short, and three months without a cut has resulted in modified updos that leave me looking like Pebbles Flintstone. Happy to report I’m getting it cut on Tuesday. Phew!
Ha! I’ve always enjoyed your chic hair, Melinda.
I’ve decided to embrace the gray, or in my case WHITE hair! 😳
Wish me luck!!
I bet it’s going to turn out FABULOUS, Darlene!
I have been cutting my hair and texturizing it every three weeks. I was used to having my hair cut every two weeks prior to the stay at home order. Have had my hair highlighted every month for over 30 years. I now have beautiful platinum highlights due to my hair graying. I like it. May not highlight any longer.
I love your hats Jamie. Of course, you are so stylish no matter what you wear or how your hair looks. Miss seeing you at Chicos. Hopefully soon.
HEEEY there, Karen! Great to hear from you! Yes, it’s been interesting to see what’s happening with our “real” hair and looking at it differently. Would LOVE to see your platinum highlights. My grays are going in platinum so part of me just wants to roll with it … the other part just isn’t sure. I need all my grey readers to share their expertise!!
You look fab, my friend! I’d love to catch up. ❤️❤️❤️
Hey, girlie! I’d love that! Drop me an email or DM thru IG – let’s do it!
Lucky you!!! Your definitely a hat person. Wish I was. I love, I mean I really love a woman in a hat (not cap). To me, it just emulates confidence, style and grace. An era. Hair salons have just re opened in my area…just in the nick of time….humidity is on the rise around here….nothing worse than an over due hair cut + humidity!!! Big bummer!!!
