So I blame my Air Force Colonel father for creating the ‘Big Thinker’ in me …and what I mean by ‘Big Thinker’ is that he taught my sister and I to always plan for the worst case scenario and that kind of planning can often lead to over-thinking, always thinking and anxiety about what you’re actually thinking. #MyHeadNowHurts
Now, I know my dad was just trying to help us survive in life and teach us how to be prepared, but he actually created the ‘What If’ girl in me. I’m always thinking WHAT IF the house catches on fire … how will I get out? WHAT IF I get an allergic reaction … when do I seek care? WHAT IF I get stuck in an elevator and no one answers the call for help button … what do I do?’ (actually, the elevator thing did recently happen to me but seeing as no one answered my call for help, I essentially freaked out.) Anyhoo, all this WHAT IF stuff keeps me up at night and I often hop on Instagram Stories to share my inability to sleep at 1:15am and do you know what everyone says to me in response to my Stories ??? They all tell me I should try CBD products and THAT is the purpose of this post.
I decided I needed to find out what the buzz is all about regarding CBD products and many a CBD brand have reached out to me over the years to collaborate. I decided it was time to take one of them up on collaborating so today I’m sharing my experience with JustCBD™, a brand that is made with industry-leading quality, honesty, and love.
Now, seeing as I’ve never really tried CBD anything before, it all seemed somewhat scary. So I only wanted to try a couple of products … you know, Baby Steps … but, frankly, I just needed something to settle down my brain.
So I tried the JustCBD Liquid Honey Tincture which can be used to create a topical pain relief cream and/or it can be used as a fast-acting stress and anxiety reliever. You take it orally and can be added in things like morning smoothies, oatmeal or baked goods and it totally just tastes like normal honey.
OK —- but WHAT IF I get ‘all high’ from this yummy, calming honey and oh-YEAH, just what exactly IS CBD anyway???
CBD is short for cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is an extract from hemp, a commonly used term for strains of the cannabis sativa plant with very low levels of THC. Hemp is used in a wide range of products in the United States and globally. Hemp is not marijuana and will not get you ’high’. Hemp, or industrial hemp, is a commonly-used term for cannabis sativa plant strains which contain very low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and are typically used for its fiber and seeds. AND hemp oil contains CBD, the non-psychoactive compounds of the cannabis plant. Hemp oil does not have the psychoactive qualities found in THC, and while using it you can maintain a clear mind and active lifestyle. … ok. This helps to settle my brain.
Other brain settling information ~ some of the many benefits one might receive from using CBD products are pain relief, anxiety & depression relief, sleeping aid, promising results in tumor-reducing effects and reduction in pain caused by chemotherapy, assistance in treating autoimmune disorders & neurological conditions AND it may even help your pets with joint pain and anxiety.
The other JustCBD product I’ve been using is this CBD Roll-On Pain Cream and I, personally, LOVE it! My massage therapist uses it on me whenever I have an in-home massage and I also apply it to my years-old ankle injury. It goes on cool and I have real relief with it.
OK, so the success I’ve had with my JustCBD products might sound great to you but, WHAT IF CBD products aren’t legal in your state? Well … “most” say that they are, but this handy dandy map is quite helpful and can answer that very question for you.
Alright ~ so I’ve now tried something new. Have I enjoyed my test drive with CBD products? Yes, I actually have. This was NOT a scary experience and I have learned that many these products are often mis-understood. Will I keep using them? Sure! I don’t see why I wouldn’t … but FRIENDS, I’m just sharing my personal experience with you. YOU, being the full-on adult that you are, can make your own educated decision if you might benefit from the use of CBD products. What I can tell you is that JustCBD has been wonderful to work with and answered all of my many questions and concerns and they can help you, too. Thank you for reading this post but now I’m totally curious … have you already tried CBD products? If so, what do you think?
*** Thank you to JustCBD for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
My husband has been using CBD products to help him sleep for over a year. One gummy and he’s out.
I haven’t yet tried gummies, Jaylene … but know many that do. (FAB name, by the way!)
I am right there with you! I may have to “rethink” on to use or not to use.
well, I confess to being very nervous. I think we all react differently to things. But just like I mentioned above to Rosemary … go slowwwwwwww and see how you feel. How does your body react? Are you getting benefit from it.
I just had to open my mind to trying new things.
Wow! Thanks Jamie for such a vote of confidence in using these products. Many of my friends use them to sleep, but I … like you are a ‘what if’ gal. I do exactly what you described. When I wake up in the middle of the night, I can’t go back to sleep because my brain launches all the ‘what ifs’ I can think of including “I probably should try something to quiet my head, but what if my body doesn’t like it and something bad happens”. I am going to the website right now to check it out. Hopefully, it will work on me as gently as it works on you. I need this so bad! Thank you for your info. So much appreciated.
Hi Rosemary, my advice if you try the tincture is go with the lowest dose and try ONE drop. See how you feel. … but, truly, I can’t tell you how many people sent me a note on IG after a few days of me posting that I can’t get my brain to settle down… suggesting I try CBD.
I take it all VERY slow.
Oh gosh Jamie you sound just like my Husband. I need to get this for him stat!
I’m the “What If” girl, for sure!
100% organically grown CBD works wonders for so many issues. I am involved with a CBD line and have a small CBD client base in my branding business so I’ve had to do the research. I now take it daily – no side effects – for sleep and overall health. The FDA is on a slow ship to do the research that verifies CBD as a viable product. If anyone has concerns, the basic rule to purchasing CBD is research the CBD company you plan to purchase it from. Reputable companies provide lab test results for each batch created. Look at the content for any THC which CBD should not have (or extremely minimal). THC is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana which should not be confused with CBD. CBD from 100% organic hemp – grown in the USA – is what you want. That is the key. As Jamie mentioned, start low if you are concerned but generally the directions for dosage on each product should be fine to get the results you desire. And contact the supplier online if you have questions. Research.
GREAT info, Rudi! Thank you.
I think you are very smart to try CBD oil. If you read the label most CBD based products will not have any THC at all. There are various ways to separate the THC out of the mix. Did you know that all of those chemicals are called Terpines? Yes, THC and all the various forms of Cannabinoids, of which CBD is only one. There are a lot of them in cannabis plants as well as hemp and lots of other herbal plant life. Have you ever heard of Limonene? It is a terpine as well.
You are really giving your followers some good advice here. I have been using Cannabinoid related products for several years for stress relief, PTSD symptoms, muscle and joint pain and so on. It is about time that the general public get educated as to the true benefits of cannabis. One last point….if you need the oil for an ailment or condition your body will funnel this form of herbal medicine to where it it needed the most…no one is getting ‘high’ from this.
Two thumbs up to you Jamie!!!
