So here’s what didn’t happen. Less than 2 weeks ago, my hubby and I were all packed and ready to go to France when ear infection No. 2 arrived ~ and everything came to a screeching halt. Our trip to France was null and void and, yeah, it just simply didn’t happen.
Other than not being able to go a see my Mother, I was quite upset for a variety of reasons ~ mainly because of my ear, BUT I was also upset because this trip had me partnering with Macy’s and Beija Flor Jeans (two of my fave brands) and that I was excited about. You see, Macy’s is truly my go-to for just about everything. I love that they have great high-end, designer brands but they also carry really reasonably priced items and Beija Flor Jeans I OBSESS over because of all the things I hate to try on are jeans. What’ s fab is that Beija sends them directly to your home so you can spend as much time as you need to try them on and decide whether you want to keep them or not. (read my previous review on them here ~ it’s an awesome program!)
So I had to unpack all the items I had hoped to highlight and wear in France, but instead I’m highlighting them for you here in my normal surroundings. Starting with what was supposed to be my “comfy travel outfit” from Macy’s and Beija Flor Jeans. I had planned to take a few pics of me wearing this on the plane with my headphones on, with perhaps maybe with a beverage in my hand. INSTEAD …

… I am standing here out in front of my condo building. I’d like to point out that I’m still comfortable even though I’m sans the beverage.
Next, I thought I was going to be waking up in my favorite hotel in Paris, Hôtel Westminster (which is priced right AND is nicely located in the Opera District) wearing my Macy’s travel robe and jammies. BUT …

… now I’m hanging out with my fur babies in my office preparing to write my next blog post. Not so bad, though, as I love to be with my doggies but where exactly is my freshly baked palmier???
I figured I’d be wearing this perfect for shopping dress strolling along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Meanwhile …
I basically wore it to Trader Joe’s and a few surrounding stores. ‘THAT’S OK ~ it’s essentially the same’ …. I tell myself. (sigh.)
I don’t generally wear heels while traveling but I figured we would go to our favorite restaurant in Paris that is right outside of the Louvre, LOULÓU. That didn’t happen so I ended up wearing this outfit to Seasons 52.
Which is lovely … but it ain’t next door to the Louvre. #JustSayin’
And lastly, I knew FOR SURE that this outfit would work ANYWHERE in France. I mean, I’m wearing a Chanel scarf, and Hermes cuff … very French-y looking ballet flats. It was PERF! But alas …

I just took them for a stroll in my own neighborhood.
Now ~ don’t feel too bad for me, as once my ear infection clears I am SOOO back on that plane to France but talk about an ordeal! Have you ever had to cancel a major trip before??? #Challenging

Nothing like a great Macy’s coupon, right Linda?
So – my ear has finally settled down but still has some pressure in it. The healing process has been a slow moving boat.
Love Macy’s ever since I was a little girl in NYC…now online they feed my Patricia Nash appetite…love all your wonderful outfits and especially how you made lemonade out of a lemon situation…now on to making champagne out of grapes and hope you are on that plane to France soon.
Me, TOO, GF! Me, too. XOXO!
At least you are going to go…but what a killer change of plans!!

I had to cancel all the hotel arrangement and flights, etc …. *most* were understanding but we still took a money hit. (sigh)
What a bummer indeed! So glad your ear is doing better, my friend.
Those jeans look amazing on you and I love that new color for Fall!
Super outfits, Jamie–hope you get to travel soon, GF! 🙂
I just did a quick airplane trip to “test” the ear before I travel internationally. It went ok although the decent was tough. … it’s very slowwwwllly getting better. Thank you!
Oh babe, you’ve had a rough trott lately haven’t you? I feel like the stress with your Mum has lowered your immune system making you open for getting ill. Since there’s nothing of your tiny frame, like me you don’t stand a chance.
I’m so happy to hear you’re on the mend love. Always love Macy’s and also hate trying on jeans! As usual you’ve nailed every look here today Jamie, a nother great post despite cancelling your trip xx
I know my immune system is taking a hit lately. Thank you, sweet friend. XO
