I’ve teamed up with DECODE 1.8 (who are known for their GORGE dresses and gowns) and wearing red today to raise awareness for heart disease … especially for women!

February is American Heart Health month and did you know that 1 in 4 women dies from heart disease? In fact, coronary heart disease (CHD), the most common type of heart disease, is the #1 killer of both men and women in the United States.  EEK!!

Personally, I don’t think that we should need a month to make us more aware of this.  Why, as women, are we programmed and understand the importance of, getting our mammograms and pap smears but yet don’t pay as much attention to heart disease?  Are we simply afraid to talk about it?

The good news is that you can control many CHD risk factors through lifestyle changes, medicines and even surgical procedures. So take care of your heart health, my friends …

… because you’ve got years and YEARS ahead of you of wearing OH-SO-FAB dresses!
