So it’s Labor Day and there you are. Chillin’ at home in your bed.  Ahhhhhh!  But wouldn’t it also be nice to be chillin’ in bed …  at a luxury resort? Well ~ I recently did just exactly that and YOU might want to as well.

A few weeks ago, I took a fun little staycation to the newly opened, luxury resort Hotel Chaco here in Albuquerque. If you’re a local and looking for a place to staycay … or if you’ve ever considered traveling to Albuquerque, New Mexico … allow me to please share the fabness of this new venue with you.  And even though my hubby didn’t tag along, and I pretty much made this a GF weekend,  I promised to capture the entire experience so that HE, and YOU, could see just exactly how it all went down.

So please click on the arrow below and then come on back so I can tell you all about it.  BTW ~ this could very well be my MOST FUN video yet. ENJOY!

Ok ~ so  Hotel Chaco, which literally just opened their doors a month or so ago, is nicely located in the heart of the historic Old Town Albuquerque. The buzz about Hotel Chaco has been  swirling around our city for quite some time now, not just for its much talked about fine amenities, but also for its strong connection to Chaco Canyon as you’ll spy Chacoan architectural elements  and culture everywhere you look.

What I l happen to love most about Hotel Chaco, though, is that it’s pet friendly and I was so excited that my little guy, Valentino, was able to join me. #YayForMe

When you enter into the lobby you are immediately greeted by THE most spectacular bronze sculpture “Oneness” by Jemez Pueblo artist, Joe Cajero.  I wanted to start my staycation off right, so I took a side artist studio tour to learn more about “Oneness'” (the sculpture represents love, energy and oneness lifting up from the ground) and the artist himself.  Joe is amazing, his work is amazing, his studio is amazing and his wife, Althea is amazing! … Althea, by the way, makes super gorgeous jewelry.  I’m thankful that they opened their home and their world to me in such a special way.  Read more about them both here.

After my studio tour, I ventured back to Old Town Albuquerque.  And since I live here, I often tool around Old Town to see what’s the latest and greatest and I was so thrilled to discover Spurline Supply Co. which offers a fantastically well curated collection of New Mexican made goods.  A must shop!

I returned to the hotel just in time to change clothes and meet some of my fab GFs  next door at Tablao Flamenco. The passion and energy of flamenco come alive nightly at Tablao and the traditional Spanish tapas and regionally inspired fine wines and spirits makes for a fab-u-lo-so good time.  … OOOOhhh to move like that again.  #AsIfIEverDid

The next day I got up early to get my sweat on and have a yummy munch as I would be heading out to Chaco Canyon.

And just as I did on my recent trip to Taos, New Mexico, I took this journey with the professionals at Heritage Inspirations, who create the most memorable bespoke, inspirational experiences.  … they also have quite the fab IG account. Follow them here

Now, the trek to Chaco Canyon is not a short one and again, I barely ~ I mean barely made it back in time to meet up with even more of my fab GFs and when we met up, we did it big time  … up on LEVEL 5, the rooftop restaurant and lounge at Hotel Chaco.  LEVEL 5 offers you a magnificent panoramic view of the Sandia Mountains, the Albuquerque downtown skyline and historic Old Town ~ not to mention super delish food and a Gruet bubble bar.

And the best part about meeting my girlfriends there was that all I had to do was push an elevator button!

But sadly all good things must come to an end and even though this staycay was much needed and rewarding in SO many ways … I was,  in fact, exhausted.   I now need a vacation from my staycation!
