Today, this 19th day of February, is a very important day. You see ~ today is the 50th day of the year and marks the launch of the 1st annual Fierce 50 Campaign which brings together 50 female bloggers all over the age of 50 in a celebration of midlife.

The midlife we are experiencing is not what it was like when our parents and grandparents were growing up. We see midlife as a powerful launching pad for the Second Act in life. It’s a time of coming into oneself AND it’s a time of connection and collaboration.

Today myself and #TheFierce50 have each been paired with a fellow “Fiercer” so that we can share the fabness of each other with YOU, our dear readers.

So without further ado ~ please allow to introduce you to my fierce friend, Cherie James;  stylist, mother, dog lover, life-long collector of unique things and creator of Style Nudge.

Ok, so firstly, Cherie has amazing style and if you ask her how she describes it she would probably say effortless chic with a twist.

Cherie  believes that style is not about how much you spend or wearing the latest trends. Great style is all about the “mix”. Combining textures, colors, patterns, high with low, new with old. Clothes are just clothes … it’s what you do with them and how you wear them that equals fabulous style. And, most importantly, style is AGELESS.

I am SO thrilled to have been paired with Cherie because I’ve been following her for quite some time now and I truly appreciate her creative eye. She has the ability to look at a random object in a whole new fashion way. Perfect example: she once wore an old horse saddle strap as a belt!  #Brilliant

Cherie loves vintage, menswear and shoes.  Hello?  Are we twins?

When it comes to vintage, Cherie says the only way to wear it is to never wear it head to toe otherwise you’re going to be taking your look waaay back in time.  Wearing one vintage piece is fresh and unique and you’re pretty much guaranteed that no one else will be wearing the same item.
Cherie’s attraction to menswear comes from one of her favorite style icon, Coco Chanel, who was strongly inspired early on by men’s clothing. Cherie has been known to steal borrow her husbands dress shirts (as well as belts, sweaters and even shoes!) with a silk evening skirt to black tie event.  See?  Twins.
And Cherie’s shoes.  HER SHOES!  If for no other reason to love Cherie ~ you must love her for her shoes. Her Shoe and Tell series on her blog is not to be missed and, frankly, the envy of us all.

^ ^ ^ SWOON worthy interiors ^ ^ ^

I hope you enjoyed this peek at Cherie and all her stylish self.  Her blog, Style Nudge, is a place to encourage women to try new ideas, play with their clothes, find their own style and to take style risks. All you sometimes need is a little “nudge”.
