I’m sure most of you are familiar with monthly subscription boxes. There are so many to choose from. I studied and pondered and dragged my feet for so long- I finally just took the plunge. I selected Sample Society. Like clockwork, my little black box arrives once a month at my front door step and I get really excited about it. YAY! YIPPEE! YAHOO! (and these are the exact words I say to the delivery man, along with some hand clapping and a little leap in the air.)

Why get so excited? Well, for a whopping $15 a month (plus tax) you get 5 “deluxe-sized” skincare, hairstyling, fragrance and makeup samples that are customized towards your liking (you answer a brief questionnaire when you enroll), an Allure mini-mag that offer’s editor’s tips and other trends, and you even receive a $15 monthly gift card at Beauty Bar.com that you can use towards any $50 or more purchase- including the items that you have just sampled in your box.
But the biggest selling point for me was that you can “opt out” of the program at any time. You are not “locked in” for some set period of time; such as 6 months or a year… and for that, I’m in love.
Here are some other interesting monthly subscription programs you may not have even known existed:
- Sock Panda – $11 per month gets you some cool, funky socks each month to style up your toes.
- Klutch Club – the best in health, wellness and fitness products. After you purchase your first box, it’s then basically $18 per month, with different monthly subscription programs available.
- Bark Box – your furry companion will receive 4-6 doggie goodies each month. Monthly cost varies depending upon size of dog, with different monthly subscription programs available. 10% of proceeds go to shelters and animal welfare organizations.
- Whimsey Box – a fun, monthly DIY project for you to craft right at home. $15 a month, with different monthly subscription programs available.
- Stork Stack – 5 deluxe-sized, age and gender appropriate baby products…and they always toss a little somethin’-somethin’ in the box for you! $28.00 per month, with different monthly subscription programs available.
- Mantry – I LOVE this! It’s the “Modern Man’s Pantry” food-of-the-month club. $75.00 a month, full- sized products, with different monthly subscription programs available.
- Loot Crate – Geek and Gamer Gear (and we all know one of these) 6-8 handpicked geeky items! Pricing and monthly subscriptions vary.

How about a monthly “no telephone solicitors will call you” program? Now, THAT, I would pay yearly for!
