Whether I’m at home or traveling someplace,  I always try to accessorize my outfits with interesting jewelry and accessories.  I especially love to wear items made by local artisans.

neckJJLAnd so, this past weekend I was just strolling around town wearing a basic ‘ole Mango sweater, dark denim ASOS jeans and my new Vince Camuto booties ~ it was clearly my Jane Bradley accessories that made the difference in my outfit.

Everyplace I went, someone stopped to ask about my necklace.

It is SO import that you support local artisans because, by doing so, you also support your local economy.  Venture into your local galleries and boutique stores ~ it is there where you will find some very special items.  I may be a tad bit biased, but I believe that New Mexican artisans create the most beautiful special items, as they are often inspired by the beauty of our state.

I am not alone in this thinking.  On a recent trip to New York, a couple walked up to me and the wife inquired about the necklace I was wearing. When I told her it was created by a New Mexico artisan and that she would need to come to New Mexico to purchase one, she said to me; “You know… I never understood why New Mexico was called the Land of Enchantment…until I went there.”

She was one smart lady.
