Whenever I’m in Santa Fe, I always make sure to allow plenty of time for a drop by to Rocki Gorman Gallery at La Fonda on the Plaza. I just simply have to go in and see what is the latest and greatest there.
Antiqued Silver Bead Collection
Rocki Gorman was destined to be a jewelry designer. Her mother’s side of the family was WELLS Jewelers from Rhode Island and her father began mining turquoise in Tonapah, Nevada. Rocki actually sold her first necklace in the boutique her parents owned in New Jersey when she was only seven. Fortunately for us, we are the recipients of such talent!
Rocki designs modern and contemporary pieces that are crafted by Native Americans and can be seen on celebrities, royalty…oh… and on ME!
This is the Copper Collection and Rocki can barely keep it in the store. It’s a HUGE hit!
Multi Stone Collection – I do own this cross. It goes with everything.
So I asked Rocki if she had to choose one item that was her absolute FAVE…what would it be? She showed me this:
(Yes, I totally understand.)
Rocki doesn’t just sell jewelry, although she has an amazing jewelry inventory that you will not believe ~ she also has beautiful clothing, handbags, hats, and lots and lots of fun accessories.
Super fab ruanas made by Susan Carli exclusively for Rocki. I love, love, LOVE this.
I captured this gorgeous customer trying on hats made by the same designer who sells to Slash from Guns N’ Roses.
See this beautiful flower “scarf”? Well, it’s only $20! Wouldn’t it make a great girl-friend, teacher, sister, hostess Christmas gift? Rocki shared that once a customer purchased a bunch of these and hung them from a chandelier for a tea party at her home. When the guests left, they each got to take one home.
By the way, the first three images of my post are courtesy of Rocki Gorman.com and that is her beautiful model, Carmen. They have been working together for years. Carmen just so happens to be a fellow Albuquerquean!
So break out your Christmas list, girls, and add: ANYTHING from Rocki Gorman to it ~ and the next time you see me you can give me a big ‘ole high-five!
Rocki rocks !
yes- she does.
When I first moved to Santa Fe almost 15 years ago Rocki and her Mom and Dad sold at the flea market and I bought a ton of her jewelry then, and when she had a store in Old Town in ABQ. When girlfriends want authentic SW jewelry, I send them to Rocki.
What a great comment about Rocki and her store- thanks!
Kyla it is so good to see your name . . . it was always fun when you stopped by the booth. Just to let you know my beautiful Dd passed away April and Mom and I miss him every single day . . . .hope you are well and thanks for the great review!!!
BIG hugs
$20? I’m there.
Unless I get there before you!
Re: the last photo—NOW THERE’S A STYLISH WOMAN !!! Love the red flowers on simple black.
shucks…
Love, love, LOVE the scarf. For some reason, it reminds me of Day of the Dead.
scarf is fab!
I’ve been collecting Rocki Gorman’s beautiful jewelry for over the past decade. Her work is extraordinary! Her beautiful model Caren Loderus is a great friend of mine who btw is a fabulous massage therapist and Ayeurvedic specialist. I purchased a gorgeous Rhuana from Rocki’s store last year in black with brighlty colored ribbons woven within. Such a great store, with Mary Francis purses for those who collect them!
I LOVE her slice belts. Rocki is a hoot too!
