So, it’s fastly becoming that time of the year again.  You know what I’m talking about – The Montezuma Ball!  If for some reason you’re not familiar with one of the most consistently, successful fundraising events in Albuquerque, then you are missing out on one seriously good time.

Why am I talking about an event that is 2 months away? Because, as one might suspect – it WILL sell out!

I'm so excited

There’s always a theme, (this year’s is – “The Year of Turquoise“) a King and a Queen,  (as a previous Queen of this event, it was only just last week that I finally stopped wearing my crown) and the best silent and LIVE auction items to bid upon.  Here’s a little sneak peek at just some of the LIVE auction items in store for us:

  • Travel package for two to Burgundy France: 7 nights in a 2 bedroom luxury apartment in the famous wine village; Pommard,  a $2,500 VISA card (equivalent to airfare value), dinner for 2 at the highly reviewed “Aupres du Clocher” village restaurant and “tutored” wine tastings. VALUE $7,500.
  • A commissioned one-of-a-kind turquoise necklace made by local master metal smith and artist, Shane Hendren:  The turquoise is being donated from the private collection of the famed Bell family and will additionally include gold, silver, precious stones and diamonds.  A VALUE of at least $5,000.
  • 3 night stay for up to 5 couples at the historic La Mesita Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico: includes a 5-course wine pairing dinner from celebrity chef Eric DiStefano and cocktails from mixologist Quinn Stephenson, goodie basket and wine tasting tour at nearby award-winning Nambe´ winery.  VALUE $7,360.00.

(*Some of these packages are still being fully developed – but this is what I know thus far.)shock- editNO WAY! Those are awesome auction items!

The Montezuma Ball was created to help us identify with our historical past,  as well as raise funds for organizations who give so much to our community.  On a serious note, let us please not forget that the more funds we can raise for these beneficiaries, the more they are able to provide to someone, or someTHING  else. This year’s beneficiaries are:

  • Primary BeneficiaryWESST: A statewide small business development & training organization committed to growing New Mexico’s economy by cultivating entrepreneurship. WESST creates jobs!
  • Second BeneficiaryAnimal Humane New Mexico:  Our state’s largest private animal welfare organization, they have saved tens of thousands of pets throughout New Mexico that otherwise would have been strays or euthanized.
  • Third BeneficiaryThe New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation: Their mission is to preserve and advance the traditional arts and cultural heritage of New Mexico.

There’s one thing that I know for sure – the Montezuma Ball is always a PARTY!  So what are you waiting for? Secure your attendance here.

Because everyone and their DOG will be there!
