My mother lives in France and has for many, many years.  Since I try to see her at least once a year – this means I have been to France many, many times.  One would think that, by now, I would know a few French words (um…actually, no…I mean…non.) I’m  quite insecure about my ability to speak French, so other than a few basics –

  • Comment allez-vous? (How are you?)
  • S’il vous plait. (Please)
  • Je m’appelle Jamie (My name is Jamie)

…I pretty much fumble my way around the country.  I point, draw, act-out everything from “Can you please tell me where the ladies room is?” to “How much are these shoes?”

I’ve decided that the next time I go to France…I’m going prepared.  At least, fashionably prepared.

PMF1I’ve got my “Please forgive me before I attempt to speak your language” sweater, my Chanel earrings and my go-to Celine sandals.

oui ringI bought this ring.

and this handbag.

forever2And, I know this shirt will win everyone over. (similar)

I’m going to be so prepared, I may even have enough confidence to belt out some new French words…”Je voudrais acheter tout le monde dans la salle un verre!”

Oops- I think I just bought a round of drinks for everyone in the room!  NON!NON!
